He continued to compete on a national-class level as a track competitor and road racer for the NYAC, Athletic Attic, and the Frank Shorter Racing Team before retiring in 1994. Kingston then repeated as DUSO Champions in 1969 and 1970, losing the 1969 Section Nine title to Ellenville by the slimmest of margins, one stroke, 340 to 341. In retirement, he stayed active in the sport by being a pro boxing judge. During his tenure he oversaw the building opening of the Kate Walton Field House in 1954 as well as the additions of gymnasiums in many of the Elementary Schools. The dynamic athlete continued to play basketball when he attended North Carolina State University from 1952 to 1955, helping his team to clinch the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships in 1954 and 1955. She was also an accomplished Varsity Basketball player for three years and ran track her senior year. Thomas Maines, a 1938 graduate and four-sport star (baseball, basketball, football, track) regarded as one of Kingstons best athletes. The Daily Freeman All-Star player, went on to play for Hastings College and quickly became a dominant force for his team. Coach Burke also coached baseball and was at the helm when his team brought home DUSO titles in 1947 and 1948. Lynsey guided her teams to a remarkable 94-19 record (.831 Winning Percentage) during her career, including the programs first 20-win season (20-3) in 2007 (#2 All-Time). She earned varsity letters all four years and was honored in 1976 for her sport by receiving the Lucille H. Verhulst Sportswoman Award. Since October 1976, Dan has been the host of the popular Radio WKNY 1490 sports talk show known as Sporttalk, which broadcasts every Monday Evening from 7:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. and ran away with his third DUSO League scoring crown (16.0 ppg.) and captured yet another DUSO League Scoring Title (14.6ppg.). * Mike Rienzo (1949) Three-sport athlete and coach. Ed set the KHS and DUSO League single game record by scoring 37 points against Newburgh in 1946-47, established a new single season point total of 408 and left the school as its all-time career leading scorer with 973 points. To cap off her astounding career, Eileen ran to a new Section One Record in 10:43.4, winning the New York State Two-Mile Title, thus becoming the first female athlete from Kingston High School to accomplish this feat in any sport. Eileen was a three-time DCSL (Dutchess County Scholastic League) Cross Country Champion in 1975, 1976, and 1977 and a two-time Section One titlist in 1975 and 1977, with a second-place finish in 1976. For the next twenty years, her softball teams would go on to win four Division, six League and eight Section titles-with five of those Section titles being consecutive wins, from 1977 to 1981. Ertha went on to play basketball at Ulster County Community College, where she set the all-time single game scoring record of 58 points. Fisher is one of 16 graduates who will be inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in October. A 1975 graduate of Kingston High School, he was a world champion boxer who left a legacy both in the ring and in his hometown of Kingston.
